Fruit won the Orange / Harper’s Bazaar short story prize. Other stories have been short-listed for the International Willesden Herald Short Story Competition (in 2013 and 2016), and highly commended in the Commonwealth Short Story Competition. They have appeared in magazines including The Interpreter’s House and New Welsh Review. The short story Before Dawn, on the Merthyr Rising of 1831, was commissioned by Comma Press for their anthology Resist: Stories of Uprising, and is paired with a historical account of the Rising by Dr Richard Allen of the University of Newcastle.
